About

South Coast Forward is a local, community-driven group of citizens and elected leaders committed to putting people over politics. Our allies come from across the political spectrum and share a commitment to putting Oregon’s South Coast community first, above party or ideology. Our aim is to build a local big-tent coalition dedicated to electing moderate candidates to local offices across the South Coast.

Our Approach

Listen to Local Voices:

We prioritize listening to the real concerns from citizens across the South Coast—left, right, and center. The first step in building up our community is respecting and understanding each other.

Identify Local Leaders:

We seek out candidates who know our communities, are focused on practical solutions, and are ready to do the work of serving the citizens of the South Coast.

Support Results Focused Candidates:

We support candidates who want to do the work: improve schools, strengthen services, and solve problems—not perform for headlines.

Build Broad Coalitions:

We bring together unlikely allies—business owners, labor advocates, lifelong Republicans, and Democrats—who are tired of dysfunction and ready to govern.

Our Values

Community First

We believe decisions should be driven by the real needs of our neighbors—not partisan agendas. We believe effective leaders are those who listen, care, and roll up their sleeves.

Action and Focus

We value action over ideology. Our support goes to candidates who are ready to govern, collaboratively solve problems, and focused on making our towns work better—not on national drama and distractions.

Finding Common Ground and Building a Big Tent

Both major parties have increasingly shut out voices that don’t toe the line. We are pushing back against this kind of politics. We believe that rather than dismissing those with contrary views we should find common ground and compromise to find solutions that move our communities forward. Whether you’re left, right, or somewhere in between you’re welcome here.

Service Over Applause

We know that good governance isn’t glamorous. It’s hard, unexciting work—budget meetings, listening sessions, problem-solving. We back those with the grit and patience to stay in it, day after day, for their neighbors; putting the community’s needs ahead of their own spotlight.
